Health and Safety
Statutory responsibility
The HCS Steering Group has overall responsibility for Health and Safety within the HCS. The person delegated by the Steering Group to have day-to-day responsibility for the implementation of this policy is the Information Hub Manager.
It is the duty of all employees, volunteers and visitors to take care of themselves and others who may be affected by their activities and to co-operate with the management in making the Information Hub, working on Station property or working on HCS business elsewhere, a safe and healthy one.
If an employee, volunteer or visitor comes across a health and safety problem in the Information Hub or any other station building or area where they are working, which cannot be rectified immediately, then the Information Hub Manager should be informed in order that the matter might receive attention.

Health and Safety policy review – HCS Steering Group
Training and information – Information Hub Manager
Accident reporting – completion of Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR) forms – Information Hub only – Manager
