Free skills events to help hard-hit businesses
8 June 2021: Waverley Borough Council has organised a programme of free skill-boosting events for businesses that have been particularly hard-hit by the pandemic.
Digital business skills training
In a relaxed and friendly environment, attendees will receive practical advice on how to use digital tools to increase their visibility, engagement and profitability.
Businesses will learn how to make the most of social media so as to market their business and improve their bottom line.
Waverley Borough Council is offering a FREE place to the first 15 people who apply.
The training consists of five sessions from 10am to 12 noon on Tuesdays 15, 22 and 29 June and 13 and 20 July. The first four sessions are virtual. The final session will be held in person in Godalming at a venue to be confirmed. Book by email
The beginners’ guide to selling your space for events
Do you have a space which you would like to hire out to generate income or are you one of the many local venues that has lost income during the pandemic?
This workshop is aimed at schools, village halls and community spaces that are thinking about selling the space they have for events.

Selling Hybrid Events
Waverley Borough Council has partnered with Godalming based business Selling Savvy to offer you a free intensive virtual workshop which will upskill you and your team to generate income by selling your venue as a hybrid event solution.
Although hybrid events have been around for a while, the pandemic has accelerated demand for these combined in person and virtual events.
This virtual workshop is aimed at venues and hotels that are new to hybrid events.
The course content will cover quick wins such as how hybrid events can immediately benefit a venue/hotel through to advice on how to avoid potential pitfalls, and strategies for selling into the hybrid events market.
There are 30 FREE places (worth £150 per person). More information and bookings online
