Preservation
We're looking for old photographs of Haslemere Station, over the past 100 years – especially when there were busy goods sidings on both the 'down' side (where the car park was built in recent years), and on the 'up' side (now the industrial estate).
The age of the pictures is less important than their subject matter. However, they would be from a time when staff in the signal box were kept busy with passenger and goods trains, and frequent shunting movements.
As part of the plan for preserving the signal box, we're hoping to find images that underline its importance in days gone by.
If your family archives have any historical pictures of the station and goods yards, please get in touch.
